Roulette fads

Since the game of roulette is so popular there are various myths and fads that have been generated along with the game. Many ignorant gamblers even believe in these fads which makes them go to the extent of altering their style of play. Not only are these fads misleading these might also lead to a heavy loss in case they are taken too seriously. One therefore needs to be clear about the basics of a game before playing it. Here we are going to clear the air above some of the most common assumptions about this game.

A very common myth regarding the roulette wheel s that all roulette wheel are the same. This is strictly not true. Every wheel is unique in itself and the way it spins cannot be predetermined. The European wheel is completely different from the American one. In fact the chance of winning in a European wheel is a lot more than in an American wheel.

Other common fad you will come across is that players rely heavily on mathematical calculations and systems to bring out some formula for winning. Roulette is a game that is based entirely on luck. One cannot use a formula to ensure his chance of winning. Strategies might help you to avoid any foolish mistakes but that is where their use ends. Since the roulette wheel spins independent of any mechanics it cannot be concluded that there is particular pattern in spinning.

This brings us to another very popular myth regarding the game. Many people think that there is a pattern behind spinning of the roulette wheel. That is, the wheel does not spin in a random manner. This is not true at all. The roulette wheel spins in an arbitrary pattern, nothing about the spinning can be predetermined. The wheel cannot store its previous motions and hence cannot repeat any earlier spins.

Also there is a common idea that the number or colour which has not been landed upon for a while might be the next one. This is completely vague and has no basis at all. Since, again, the spinning is random you can never know what will happen next. The ball might or might not hit a number all throughout the game. Hence, if the ball has not landed on an even number for a while does not imply that betting on an even number is a safe bet.
