The Martingale Doubling Strategy
Roulette gave birth to an online business that is thriving with each passing day. This business provides strategies to gamblers to break the roulette system and make most money possible of it. One such strategy that is perhaps the most famous is the Martingale Doubling strategy. This strategy is to be used in the bets that pay even money. For example the red and white bet or the even –odd bet.
The bet is quite simple to carry out hence preferred by rookie gamblers who do not have much sense of the game. This is how the bet works. In case you lose a bet you simply double the amount that you have betted and keep doing that until you win. The result of the game is not very prospective yet the new gamblers are fooled by it. The idea of the game can be understood through an example. In case you invest $1 in a bet and win it you make a profit of $1 in the bet. According to this strategy in case you lose the bet you must double it. Place a bet of $2, that makes your investment around $3 and the when you win it you will get $4 again a profit of $1. This process continues till you keep losing. The problem is no matter how much you win your profit will be just $1, which is almost nothing at a large scale.
The strategy only helps you in not losing any money. At the end of the day you have only one dollar extra of the money you brought. The myth that if an even number has not appeared since a while in the outcome the chance of an even number in the next spin is the most fuels such strategies. However this assumption is totally baseless. The probability of each number and group is the same with each spin of the wheel and hence the strategy cannot work if argued on this assumption.
Other reasons for avoiding this strategy are that it assumes that the player can place as high a bet as he wants. However roulette tables always have a higher limit beyond which the player cannot place the bet. The amount of the bet made has to be below that particular amount. Also, the bet provides very little for a high investment. To earn only $20, one would have to invest around $6,000 in the game.
